Working as a Santa Character also gives seniors the opportunity to become part of Scene to Believe’s warm and welcoming Santa Character community. The community consists of hundreds of like-minded Santa Characters right across Australia and New Zealand who all share the same passion for spreading joy and happiness to children and families in their local communities.
Each year, Scene to Believe’s Santa Characters come together to celebrate Christmas in July at local ‘Jingle & Mingle’ events. While in October, the annual ‘Scene to Believe Santa School’ provides an opportunity for experienced and first-time Santa’s to brush up on their Santa skills.
“Being a Santa Character is more than just a part-time job”, says Mrs Diaz. “The community aspect of being able to share experiences, learn from each other, as well as the camaraderie with other Santa Characters adds an extra layer of fulfilment and social connection to the role.”
According to Tony Hooper, experienced Santa Character at Scene to Believe, “It’s not just a Santa Character role during the Christmas season. You can also become part of our welcoming Santa community. We all share the same love of Christmas and dedication to spreading joy and happiness. We all love making people happy and when we get together it’s all really good fun.”
Earn Money for the Holiday Season
Although working as a Santa Character is truly a labour of love, it is a paid role that can provide a valuable source of extra income. Seniors wishing to embrace the Santa Character role can earn extra income during the holiday season, a time when purse strings can become a little stretched.
“It’s a fantastic thing to be involved in. It’s a real joy”, says Mr Hooper. “It’s the only job I’ve ever done where I can get up in the morning and have a smile on my face and go to work and have an absolute ball and what’s more, get paid for it”.
How to Get Involved
Scene to Believe is inviting seniors of all walks of life and abilities to apply for the Santa Character role.
Santa is traditionally renowned for his white beard, rosy cheeks, and large belly. However, the good news is seniors don’t need any of these physical attributes to work as a Santa Character. Scene to Believe offers comprehensive training and support to ensure all Santa Characters are fully prepared for their enchanting journey.
“We are looking for people who enjoy making people happy, love working with children and love Christmas”, says Mrs Diaz.
“You don’t need a beard and you don’t need to look like Santa. All you need is a big heart and a big smile, and we can look after everything else. We provide the suit, the accessories, the training – everything you’ll need to look like Santa and play the role of Santa”.
How To Apply
“We’ve made the Santa Character application process quick and easy. All you need to do to start the application process is send an email to santajobs@scenetobelieve.com, fill out an online form, or simply call our Santa Hotline on (02) 9054 2633”, says Viviana.
Applicants would ideally be available to work a flexible work schedule of around 24 hours a week during November and December. Applicants must also be willing to obtain a working with children check to be eligible for the position.
