OUR STORY

Scene to Believe emerged from a chance encounter at a US trade show into a pioneering force in Australia’s photography and experiential marketing industry. Founded in 1997 by Stefan, the company launched with a groundbreaking green screen technology at Darling Harbour. The innovative concept allowed visitors to immerse themselves in various scenes, from cuddling koalas to battling sharks in the harbour, with their photos printed on the spot!

The catalyst for Scene to Believe came when Stefan discovered Amusematte USA’s green screen technology at the IAAPA trade show. Seeing its potential in Australia, Stefan pulled his father out of retirement to launch the business as a family venture.

The green screen magic quickly spread across Australia, popping up at iconic spots like Perth Zoo, Crown Casino, and even as far as Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia and Dublin Zoo. By 1999, Scene to Believe had diversified its offerings to include portable green screen setups, catering to corporate events and marketing campaigns across Australia, and working with high-profile brands like Foxtel and Coca-Cola.

CREATING MAGIC

A pivotal moment arrived in 2002 with the introduction of Santa photography in partnership with a pop-up retailer at Castle Towers shopping centre, featuring instant printing—a first in the industry. This innovation caught the attention of Westfield, leading to a partnership that saw Scene to Believe operating in all Westfield centres by Christmas 2003, marking a transformative milestone and solidifying our reputation as an industry leader.

Further expansion into New Zealand followed in 2005, at the invitation of AMP Capital Shopping Centres, underscoring our commitment to delivering exceptional photography services beyond Australian borders. Scene to Believe continued its growth in 2010, entering the graduation photography market and enhancing graduation ceremonies nationwide with our photography and instant printing capabilities. The acquisition of an academic regalia company and its clientele in 2015 was a strategic move that bolstered Scene to Believe’s graduation services into a full-ceremony service offering.

Today, Scene to Believe is celebrated for its entrepreneurial spirit, technological innovation, and client-focused approach. From our humble beginnings with 15 employees, we now boast up to 2,500 seasonal staff during peak periods and operate 200 photography units throughout Australia. We continue to redefine photography experiences across corporate, retail, and academic sectors, dedicated to pushing boundaries, creating unforgettable experiences, and setting new standards in the photography and experiential marketing industries.
