🌟Our Second Wave of Openings Brings the Magic to Life
What an incredible week it has been across Australia as the Christmas magic continues to unfold.
Our second week of openings saw the arrival of Santa in style, with all our Westfield centres officially joining the festivities along with many more locations across the country. 🎄
From parades filled with cheer to Santa making a splash with his grand arrival by boat on the Sunshine Coast and even stopping by Bondi Beach to soak up some sun, this week was bursting with festive fun and community spirit. The joy on the faces of families, little ones, and even our elves said it all.
The season has truly begun.

Shae has stepped into a Chief Elf role this year and has done an outstanding job with opening weekend! Even when faced with visitor delays, Shae handled the situation with professionalism, confidence, and ease. Each Santa set will receive their very own gingerbread friend, ready to join the fun, spread smiles, and sprinkle a little extra magic across every photo session.
Your Gingerbread Mascot isn’t just a decoration – it’s part of your team! You can use this mascot to:

Here’s the fun part…Your team gets to name your Gingerbread Mascot and create it’s very own backstory! Is your mascot a cheeky cookie who loves to make Santa laugh?

BEHIND THE BEARD
🎅 Santa Brian’s Story: Glasses and Sunnies for Sri Lanka
When he’s not spreading Christmas cheer in his Santa suit, Santa Brian is bringing a different kind of magic to people in need — the gift of sight.
For the past nine years, Brian and his partner John have been travelling to Sri Lanka, where they’ve formed a deep friendship with their local driver, Gamini, and his family. During one of their early visits, Gamini asked a simple but life-changing question: “What do you do with your old glasses in Australia? People here could use them.”
From that moment, Glasses and Sunnies for Sri Lanka was born. Since then, Brian and John have collected and delivered more than 1,600 pairs of recycled glasses and sunglasses across six trips, including over 400 pairs generously donated by our own Scene to Believe team during training and Jingle & Mingle events.
Each visit brings joy, gratitude, and hope to hundreds of Sri Lankans who otherwise wouldn’t have access to proper eye care. On distribution day in the fishing village of Ahangama, locals line up with excitement as Australian and Sri Lankan flags wave side by side. One by one, people try on glasses until they find a pair that helps them see clearly, a simple act that changes lives.
One of the most touching parts of their work is how well-known they’ve become within the local communities. Word spreads quickly that “the two Australian men with glasses” are back in town, and people come from near and far to find them, eager for the chance to see clearly again.
“It’s the most moving and gratifying experience of our lives,” says Brian. “These communities have so little, yet they give back so much through their gratitude and kindness.”
Brian and John are already preparing for their next trip in 2026, hoping to deliver 1,000 pairs of glasses, a goal made possible through the generosity of supporters like you.
